Observations from the first practice...

  • Brad Wright loves to test his players' conditioning and stamina to see how well they trained over the summer.
  • Several players had to pull out during the course of practice due to the heat. Garrett Hood and Ray Parker, Jr. were two of them.
  • Parker, Jr. really picked it back up when he got back into it, impressing new defensive line coach Mike Bugar.
  • Freshman wide receiver Darius Bolden made several tough catches across the middle during a receiver/cornerback drill.
  • Morris Crosby looks like a natural at CB. He really put in the effort during the spring and summer. He should have a starting spot come the first game.
  • Texas State will hold practice at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday this week, not 3:00 p.m.
