College Football: Recruiting News (Part 1)

Texas State is close to landing another solid JUCO transfer.

The Bobcats, who already have Blinn College wide receiver Shaun Rutherford on campus, are close to reeling in Navarro College tight end Chase Harper, who also has offers from Nebraska and Miami. Harper had an offer from the Cornhuskers last season, but couldn't join the team since he failed to qualify academically.

Harper, who is listed at 6-foot-4, 260 pounds, also played basketball at Navarro.

More on this as it develops.

From a football recruiting website, it seems Blinn C.C. OL committed yesterday to Texas State as he's listed at a commit. I wanted to confirm with you, if you've heard anything.

Just saw on the same link rivals.com recruit database (have to put in Texas State for players Tstate are recruiting, then it brings up a list of players and just yesterday 1/25 it noted that three committed) that possibly 3 student-athletes verbally committed to Texas State. 2 JUCOS and 1 freshmen.

I've been a big football fan and know how to get info from websites like this since Texas State does not have sports website. You don't have to post any of this other than if you find out these commits are accurate.

I'll be sure to check into it. Since the new staff has turned over, getting recruiting news is a bit tougher, but I'll work at it.
