College Football: How Mayforth voted in The Sports Network's Top 25 Poll

1. Villanova
2. Appalachian State
3. James Madison
4. Jacksonville State
5. Richmond
6. Stephen F. Austin
7. Delaware
8. New Hampshire
9. Southern Illinois
10. Elon
11. Massachusetts
12. Eastern Washington
13. South Carolina State
14. William & Mary
15. McNeese State
16. Northern Iowa
17. North Dakota State
18. Central Arkansas
19. South Dakota
20. Liberty
21. Texas State
22. Cal Poly
23. Montana
24. Weber State
25. Furman

Our take: This week's poll was incredibly tough in which to vote because of the amount of upsets last weekend in the Football Championship Subdivision. I undervalued James Madison in the last poll and corrected that error. Felt like I was throwing darts with my eyes closed toward the bottom but it should settle down in the upcoming weeks.

I really like your poll if we had 10 more points we break in the Top 25 I guess 26 will do

New Hampshire in the top 10 after a loss to URI? That dart missed. ;-)

@Anonymous — I'm surprised Texas State didn't get a little bit more love from the writers and SIDs.

@ToTheLeft — I must have pressed "Move Up" when I meant to click "Move Down" a few times on them. I wanted them around 13-16.

UCA got too much love. They haven't really beaten anybody yet. Montana only has a DII win. McNeese just got by Lamar and lost to Ole Miss by more than TXST did to Houston. Elon? They're 1-2 and that's a DII win. Tyler, you need to do a bit more researching there.

@Anonymous (2) — Central Arkansas is one of a few undefeated teams in the FCS right now and the Bears did beat Eastern Illinois on the road.

I don't find a reason to punish McNeese State at this juncture and Elon is going to find itself falling further if it doesn't pick it up. Lamar has proven to be a tough opponent so it's going to be interesting to see how the Cardinals can do against SFA.

Montana was nearly dropped out, but I couldn't find too many others to take its place.

I appreciate the constructive criticism and it should all get clearer once teams only play teams in the FCS.

Thanks for reading!

Eastern Ill. is 0-3. UCA's opponents' records are 1-8. Yes, it was a tough weekend for the top teams and I agree this week will help sort things out more. Hoping the TXST game goes our way.
